Colas CZ completed modernization of tramway track in Ostrava

The refurbishment of the almost 600-metre-long section between 30. dubna Street and Valchařská Street was the biggest infrastructure investment of the Public Transport Company in Ostrava for this year. In just 38 days, the construction workers managed to replace the track superstructure on the double-track line with a more modern and less noisy balastless/slab track and install new catenary on new poles. The platforms of Důl Jindřich tram stop were also renovated - passengers and pedestrians will now be alerted to an approaching tram by a new light signal. The tramway track modernization project in Nádražní Street also involved the replacement of a switch point to allow for a much smoother ride through the area.
