At COLAS CZ, we are increasingly focusing on the use of digitized data and BIM for transport infrastructure projects.
In the presence of the Minister of Transport Martin Kupka and the Director General of ŘSD Radek Mátl, we have ceremonially started the construction of the road I/35 Lešná - Palačov.
We specialize in road construction, focusing on construction, refurbishment, rehabilitation and other works on roads and bridge structures. We also build and refurbish utility networks and infrastructure for trains and trams.
We construct, refurbish and rehabilitate various types of roads - from motorways, major roads, urban and suburban roads; to cycle paths, field and forest roads or even footpaths. In addition, we specialise in sports grounds projects and paved areas such as public car parks and parking areas, shopping centre car parks, paved areas in industrial zones, etc. Our portfolio also includes the construction and refurbishment of water management networks or environmental projects.
We perform construction and rehabilitation works both on railway and tramway projects, including works on the railway track substructure and superstructure and related structures such as bridges, culverts or platforms. In co-operation with our partners, we also deliver catenary equipment or signalling and communication systems for railway and tramway transport.
We construct, refurbish and modernise road as well as railway bridge structures. Focusing particularly on bridges with a medium span up to 100 m, our scope of projects includes mainly RC bridges, pre-stressed concrete bridges, pre-cast concrete bridges and steel-concrete composite bridges. We also build wooden structures. In addition, we deliver projects of retaining walls, utility tunnels and various tanks, basins and structures made of waterproof concrete.
We operate a network of 12 hot asphalt mixing plants (HAMPs) and 12 quarries, which allows us to supply construction sites throughout the Czech Republic. We offer a full range of aggregates, hot mix asphalts and polymer-modified asphalts (produced by our ASTECH plant).
We produce crushed aggregates and sell quarried aggregates. We supply material for concrete batching plants, precast concrete plants, HAMPs, road and railway construction projects and water management projects. We also have five mixing centres to produce wet-mix macadam. We can also arrange transport of aggregates to construction sites. In selected quarries we can even load the material in railway freight wagons.
More about QuarriesWe operate modern and efficient hot asphalt mixing plants (HAMPs) with an annual production output of about 700,000 tons of hot mix asphalt. In addition to traditional mixes, we can offer asphalt mixes developed in the laboratory of the COLAS Group in France. Our facilities undergo a regular modernization and upgrade to make production more efficient and environmentally friendly. Our ASTECH production plant in Holubice near Brno uses state-of-the-art technology in the field of polymer-modified bitumen to increase the quality and ensure a highly reliable supply of our products.

We run an independent test laboratory with expertise in the field of roads. Our scope of activities is focused on testing asphalt mixes and binders, soils, aggregates and both fresh and hardened concrete. We also perform inspection tests of road courses, including the subgrade, and measure the surface properties of concrete and asphalt pavements.

More about Ethics & SustainabilityEverything you might have not known about our company from its beginning
COLAS CZ, a.s. entered the Czech road construction market in 1994 as a merger of three traditional companies - Silnice Jihlava, Silnice Znojmo and Silniční stavitelství Praha. Gradually, COLAS grew its business in the Czech Republic and integrated many other construction companies. In 2008, COLAS acquired ASTECH, a specialist in polymers of modified bitumen, and since 2014 it has held a majority share in Silnice Horšovský Týn, s.r.o.
In 2020, COLAS purchased the at-that-time family-owned company Silnice Žáček, s.r.o., a strong regional player.
