Temporary bridge in Planá nad Lužnicí finally removed as the construction of the new bridge is now completed

The arch bridge, which is almost 82 metres long and has no central pillar, replaced the original old concrete bridge that stood on the same site and had reached the end of its life.

The supporting structure of the new bridge consists of a steel-reinforced arch and a composite concrete bridge deck. The designers also paid attention to the aesthetic value of the bridge, which stands in the middle of a town of almost four thousand inhabitants in southern Bohemia. The elegant bridge over the Lužnice River is only 5.6 metres above the road at its highest point. This is also the only point at which the arch is reinforced with two frame braces. The arch itself was painted blue in agreement with the representatives of the Planá nad Lužnicí municipality.
