Field roads in Bohemian Paradise win 1st place!
COLAS CZ has once again scored highly in the Living with the Landscape competition, organized by the State Land Office in cooperation with the Czech-Moravian Chamber for Land Consolidation.
🍀While we won the award for revitalizing a stream in Šumava, this year the jury was impressed by the construction of three field roads in the cadastral area of Vyskeř in Hruboskalsko, in the picturesque landscape of Bohemian Paradise.
🍀Over two kilometers of new roads were built here, which will improve accessibility to the area and adjacent land. "The roads were supposed to be varied, so we used different types of surfaces in accordance with the project. These included asphalt concrete, crushed aggregate, and, above all, unusual cement concrete strips," says Jan Šilhán, COLAS CZ manager for the Liberec region.
🍀And to make the roads blend in better with the landscape, they were complemented by a new tree-lined avenue of more than 50 apple, pear, and plum trees. The award-winning dirt roads in Bohemian Paradise thus show that environmental protection and new, high-quality utility roads can complement each other perfectly.
