Third Lane for Mladá Boleslav Motorway

In the places where it passes Mladá Boleslav, the D10 motorway is one of the busiest traffic arteries in the Czech Republic. Over 40,000 cars pass through the area each day. Traffic is also getting heavier due to drivers who need to pass Prague from the Exit 46 and continue on the I/16 road to Sobotka. They have had to take the provisional lane, only to turn off from it right away after about one kilometre at Exit 44 B.
However, by the end of the year, there should be a substantial relief in the form of an auxiliary lane that will allow more continuous and safer driving without the need to change lanes. The connection of the slip lane and turning lane will create the same pattern that has existed for three years in the same section in the direction to Turnov. Thus, the D10 will have six lanes between the two exits. The construction contract valued at 83 million CZK (excluding VAT) was given to COLAS CZ, a.s. in association with Integra stavby by ŘSD (Road and Motorway Directorate). The works, which began in August this year, not only include the construction of 1,300 metres of a new auxiliary lane, but also the rehabilitation of the slope and the construction of a new 251.5-metre-long retaining wall.
This was definitely not a routine job for our builders. In the section between Exit 46 and Exit 44 B, one construction is already under way – a new bridge over the D10 intended to connect parts of the Škoda Auto plant together.
The new continuous lane on the D10 will provide drivers with better safety and comfort and will also relieve the busy motorway that runs through Mladá Boleslav. For COLAS CZ, a.s., the third lane between Exits 46 and 44 B in the direction to Prague will be another referral in the motorway construction sector and also in the region. COLAS CZ, a.s. also built a new roundabout at the exit from D10 near Mnichovo Hradiště. We have also realised a number of contracts for Škoda Auto, including laying asphalt layers for their test track.
