Liblín bridge

The nearly 100-year-old bridge over the Berounka River in Liblín has undergone a complete reconstruction and now presents its new form. The project, delivered by COLAS CZ, carefully preserves the historical value of this technical landmark while adapting it to meet current transport requirements.

 As part of the works, the original bridge deck was removed and a new structure was built on the preserved substructure. The historic arches and foundations were retained, allowing the bridge to maintain its original architectural character.

Modern standards while preserving historical character

The original bridge, dating back to 1929, was in poor technical condition. The result of the reconstruction is a faithful replica that meets the standards of a Class II road, including a widened carriageway and a safe pedestrian walkway.

🛠️ The project also involved technical challenges, such as the reconstruction of the abutments, which required new foundations due to deficiencies in the original design.

A key transport link and a technical heritage site

At 138 metres in length, the bridge is an important transport link for the wider region of northern Pilsen and the Rokycany area. At the same time, it remains a valuable cultural landmark, sensitively integrated into the landscape of the Berounka River.

 The reconstruction successfully combines historical value with modern infrastructure requirements, ensuring safe and reliable use for years to come.
